Where do I go from here?

As many of you possibly know, mainly from previous posts, I am having one of those existential crisis moments. I have no idea what career to embark upon when I leave university...which is in a years time *yelp*.

When I graduate in 2015 I will have studied criminology and criminal justice studies for 3 years, which is an extremely long time to stick at something that puts you about £60k in debt and that you have learned to absolutely hate.

When I first started university I thought it would be a great subject to study, but it fell a close second to my preferred subject of law - something I adored from A Level's but did not think I would get the grades to study. In true form I got considerably more than the required grades to study law but had applied to study criminology so I settled with that.

Over the last two years I have grown very sick of it, and frankly do not wish to have a career in the criminal justice system or any related field. This has now posed a little bit of a problem for me, as I am back to square one; something I thought I had escaped 3 years ago!

I put logic to this situation and wrote a list of what I enjoy and what I am passionate about. It went a little something like this:

1. Writing
2. My blog
3. Social media
4. The internet
5. Travel

The obvious thing that jumped out to me from all this was that the first and second things on my list essentially combined into one main aspect surrounding writing.

So where could I go from here?

I thought a career at Google would have been fantastic, then upon further research discovered that there basically isn't an opportunity there for someone graduating with a criminology degree.

I considered other aspects such as Maker Studios - something I have seen from the Shaytards vlogs (take a look if you haven't heard of them, Shay Carl and his family are AMAZING). Yet again I came to a dead end because they recruit talent based on YouTube content - shockingly something I also lack.

Maybe I could go towards a Twitter or Tumblr career? I do not know. The possibilities are endless, I just need help in finding something I completely enjoy doing.

My ideal career would involve travelling and documenting it on my blog, but doing so for a big social media company. Obviously this is such a far-fetched idea that even I am aware it is pretty impossible. But it's worth a shot right?

What would your dream career be if anything were possible?

The concept of "beauty"

As a girl I get called every name under the sun because of the way I look; so much so that I am now just expecting a hurl of abuse all the time about it. I know that this is a general thing that tends to happen to females because of the exaggeration in the media of this idealistic representation of beauty, which frankly is beyond inaccurate. But why should we have to endure this? Who is out there drawing up this blueprint of how every female should look, and saying that if they don't look like a certain way then they are instantly inferior and in the firing line of an endless tail of abuse? I would like to find this person and give them a good kick up the ass and a reality check.

It appears that this concept of beauty stems from magazines and so called 'high fashion'. For example, lets address size zero. First of all, can I reaffirm the fact that in absolutely no way in hell is this either healthy or ideal, unless of course you have an abnormally fast metabolism and there is no way you can help this. Who on earth should go out their way to make themselves look like a lollipop? I know that many young girls are heavily influenced by these models they see in the likes of "Vogue" and all these other trashy things marketed simply to change the mentality of otherwise happy girls. Do these magazines not realise the sheer power they can have over the likes of a 13 year old girl who is trying to fit in with these unbelievably misjudged representations of a woman? They present this screwed up ideology that for some absurd reason looking like a skeleton is 'beautiful'. That is not beautiful in any way. Take for example this picture:

I am not sure who this is, but this is from a Spanish Vogue fashion show, and do you know what the Google image result was for this? "The Modern Cool". I mean, are you actually kidding me? She just looks unhealthy and malnourished and I just want to shove a burger down her throat. I cannot fathom how anyone would be happy like this. I for one have gone through this stage, yes, however I was not heavily influenced by all this size zero bullshit as it sort of occurred a bit after my early teenage years. Do these high fashion things not realise that a lot of young girls aspire to be like the things they idolize, and actually can cause serious long term damage to their bodies because of serious matters like starvation and eating disorders?

I also have a serious issue with airbrushing. It's like the magazines who post all this shit are just never satisfied. I think the most current example I can think of is with Jennifer Lawrence. Let me show you this image:

I don't know about you, but I would kill to look like her pre-airbrush. She looks a million times more womanly and less little-girl like. If someone can justify to me why airbrushing occurs like this then please do as I genuinely cannot wrap my head around it. It is almost as if they are projecting this false representation of "perfection" that is quite plainly fake as no one can achieve it. Yet the media continues to brainwash society to believe that this is what a woman should look like. What I do not understand is that Jennifer Lawrence has an incredible figure, and is in no way overweight or whatever (another issue I shall address in a second) yet she is still airbrushed. How can the media project this image? Is there someone somewhere along the line who just thinks "fuck it, lets pretend that everyone who comes in here is stick thin and without blemishes"? No, Photoshop does that shit. No one is perfect, whether you believe it or not. Every single being on the planet has flaws, some may be physical and some may not be, but there is no such thing as a flawless person. So why does the media continue to portray that there is?
As I just mentioned weight issues, I will go with that for my next point. Before I launch in to this one, I want to share with you a few images I found on Tumblr surrounding this issue. I haven't credited them because I am not sure of their original source:

"Maybe if I lose some weight someone
will start to care"

"Everyone around me is losing weight and I feel so fat"

"Everything is fine as long as I am getting thinner"

"You don't deserve to eat. You really don't.
Look at you. You're fat. Your bones are being crushed until all this fat. You did this to yourself. Now you have to pay for it. Starve"

"Maybe if I lost weight I'd be able to smile again"

This is fundamental proof that girls are being both brainwashed and dangerously affected by the shit published by these magazines and other forms of media. On Tumblr, when I searched "weight" I would say that a good 70% are posts similar to those I have shown above. How can there be someone out there who is continuously installing this malfunctioning idea into the heads of teenagers and young adults? I am genuinely shocked at some of the things I found on the internet surrounding weight. There is no upper limit or lower limit on how much someone should weight to be classified as "beautiful". It's almost as if someone has gone around and drawn this imaginary suit that everyone has to fit in to be classed as beautiful. I also found this image of what girls tend to class as a 'perfect body':

I find this quite shocking to be perfectly honest. However, I am going to call some home truths about this. The first thing I want to address is the 'narrow waist'. As a female you will get to an age where your natural figure will show, and this generally means your waist will become defined and you will gain what is known as the "hourglass figure" - this is where your waist narrows slightly and your hips widen. That is what I would say is a gorgeous body shape, rather than this stick-insect thing people seem to want. As for collarbones, they tend to be defined in women whether you are slimmer or bigger. Skinny arms...who the hell wants stick arms? What is wrong with a little meat on your bones, seriously? Ah, the thigh gap. Why do young girls obsess over having a thigh gap? It seems to be the be all and end all at the moment. Newflash for you, girls, I have never had a thigh gap in my entire life. Does that make me fat? Does it fuck. The final point I want to address here is the "boobs" section of this. Here is a serious newsflash for you, girls. If you are ridiculously slim through dieting and whatnot, you will not have boobs. It is how nature goes.

I think the final thing I am going to address here is general image, including the likes of makeup. Looking like you are fresh off the runway seems to be a part of every day life for a lot of young people these days. In recent years there has been a serious increase in the emphasis on fashion, hair, and makeup affecting both males and females. It seems to me that the pressure for anyone to look perfect is at breaking point. I have a younger sister (now 16) who very rarely leaves the house without any makeup on. Where did the acceptance of natural beauty go? I think that a lot of this is down to, shockingly, the media. You always get the pictures of celebrities with no makeup on like ridiculous headlines always focusing on the negative way of how someone looks. It is very rare for there to be a positive comment about how someone looks without makeup on. This seems to get installed in the minds of young people that they will be judged and penalized for leaving the house without looking pristine. The saying that you are your own worst enemy is seriously true. Many young people judge themselves based on what they believe and think others will think - which most the time is not true!

I am going to wrap this up, and stop rambling now. I will definitely make a part two of this article.

I know that this post cannot simply change the world, but I am hoping that it leaves a small part of confidence in any of you who are reading this. Under no circumstances should you change yourself because of something you read, or because someone makes a shitty remark about the way you look. 9 times out of 10 that person is most likely going to be jealous of you in some way. No one is perfect, and you shouldn't strive to be someone that you are not simply to please someone else. You should accept you for the way you are. If you are going through a tough time with people giving you grief because of the way you look then leave me a comment or a tweet, or drop an ask in my tumblr box and I will respond to you personally. I have been through all this shit, and I don't want to watch other people suffer.

You are worth more than the nasty comments.

Keep your head held high and brush them off - don't doubt yourself because of someone else's insecurities.

Confidence is key - once you master being happy with yourself you can conquer the world.

Life philosophy - would you do it?

This is a little bit of a bonus post for this week as I saw something on Tumblr that really got my mind whirring. Thought I would share it with you guys and see what you think. Given the fact that Tumblr is probably the weirdest place on the entire internet - if you haven't got to that dark spot then stay away, it will become addictive - I never expected to find this sort of thing on there. This is what I saw:

"If you were given a book containing your entire life story, would you read the end?"

Now then, this seriously got my brain going and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I am not entirely sure why because it seems like a simple statement to make in just a simple state of mind. However, being female I tend to over think everything, and this is one of those times.

I have asked other people what they think of this statement and whether they would actually read the book, and it seems we have a really varied spectrum of opinions. Many people agreed with each other, but also differed in several aspects. It would seem that this slightly simple statement has turned in to something that has been dug even further.

First of all, I will start with what I think about it, then move on to things that other people have said etc.

So, I have several questions for this statement - not that it can ever be answered, so bring on philosophy.

First of all, I want to define "the end". What is the end? Surely the end of every person's book would be the same? It is inevitable that everyone ends in the same way; that end being death. So I am not sure why I would want to read the sentence "and today Danielle died". However, there is an essence of morbid curiosity surrounding this, I think. I would quite like to know how and when I will die. Is that weird? I feel like I am jinxing it now. It would be both interesting and then also terrifying to know when you are going to die. It would be like something out of a movie; a surreal atmosphere of just awaiting when you're going to die. Although it could be argued that this is what a human does. So based on this theory, I am not sure that I would read "the end" of the book simple to stop myself getting stressed.

I think if I did have the option to read anything in this story, I would tackle the middle. This would probably constitute the next 20 years of my life from now. I'd quite like to know about graduating university, what I actually do with my life, and if I ever settle down. You know, all those details that you usually find yourself pondering anyway. Having said this, surely this would then lead to the similar situation regarding the end of the book? You would spend the majority of your life actively searching for the things that you have read will happen to you, which in turn would probably mean that you don't find them at all? Thus technically rewriting your entire story and taking you back to square one?

Although I severely dislike surprises, isn't the entire point of life to have that element of unpredictability to keep everything in check? Whether or not you agree with this, having that surprise element is what most people enjoy in life - not knowing what is going to happen and when. The spontaneity of life would be completely ripped to shreds if you had a copy of your entire life story to hand. Humans are very curious creatures, and the smallest amount of temptation can drive anyone mad. So surely having a copy of this would essentially ruin human nature? People would become obsessed with finding this written prophecy which would probably make the world an even more nightmarish place than it already is.

I think that most people wouldn't like parts of their life story and would think to "edit" parts out, and not face them properly. They'd get increasingly more irate with parts and focus on them, therefore focusing on the bad and blanking the good, which would most likely worsen the confusing nature of humans more.

Having done a bit of research on this, I think people would go one of two ways about their life from reading this. The first being that of what I have already described; being caught up in knowing about what will happen but also enjoying life. Then there would be the opposite person who would give up if their life doesn't go how they had imagined it. It's likely that life would become tiring and boring if everyone knew what was going to happen.

I'd also want to know who had written this book? Who knew so much about me as to determine my future? How had I been described? Maybe I am not as good of a person as I originally thought I was? Would I want to read all about my previous mistakes? Would I want to know about the many mistakes I am most likely going to make?

All in all, I think I would happily sit and watch the book burn. At the end of the day, if my life was already pre-written, nothing that I can do or say will ever change it. Although I would be curious as to what someone has in store with me, I would rather not endure constant panics about maybe I had missed something, or I knew something bad was coming up.

So I ask you; Would you read the book?

The life of an internet addict

Hello there, buddies!

So I am a bit behind with writing this post...I actually planned it this morning, then I got carried away with doing everything under the sun apart from blogging. So here I am now, watching Harry Potter and writing...this could go terribly wrong - you could get the odd HP character reference or quote chucked in here and there.

I also need to apologise for the lack of my normal daily posts that I do. I started my new job a week or so back, so I don't have as much time to work on these as I used to, but we will be back to normal daily posts by September,  I promise. So stick in there!

As you all probably know by now, I am a teeny tiny bit of an internet addict...OK, a massive internet addict.

Jim Chapman did a video yesterday (or today, I can't remember) about the fact he is addicted to the internet, and I have had this post planned for about two months, so I thought it might be about time I sat down and actually wrote it.

We will be talking about the things I do, and I expect you do, that sort of prove the addiction to the internet.

If you do any of these things, then you are addicted.

I saw on Tumblr this morning that in 2015 they are making internet addiction a classified mental illness...so see you in rehab, guys.

And without further ado, here we go!

My list of things that prove you are an internet addict:

  • Google is the answer to everything
This is my answer to any question I ever get asked. I look at them like "just Google it" and they are like "ok, freak".
  • Wikipedia is a reliable source of information
I don't understand why people think that is isn't reliable, I mean like it isn't as if anyone can hack in and write what they want. What did you say?...They can?....Oh...
  • You use Tumblr GIFs in general conversation and as reactions
"Raise your hand if you do this" *slyly raises hand*. This happens. Mainly with Danisnotonfire GIFs 'cause they definitely apply to every day situations most the time...
  • The word "hashtag" has become general vocabulary for you
Guilty again....I use the word hashtag in general conversation and I am shocked someone has not stabbed me because of it yet.
  • YouTubers you have never met seem like your best friends
I feel like all the YouTubers I watch would be such good friends in real life. Is that sad? Yes, probably. Oh well.
  • Twitter is constantly on in the background
Yep, I always have my Twitter open somewhere where I can access it. I have even stopped midway through doing something important to check it. I even have it on in the background right now...and I am stopping every now and again to reply to a conversation with one of my readers!
  • "Enough internet for today" *turns laptop off then resorts to iPhone 5 minutes later*
I am guilty of this every single night. Turn off my laptop, and jump straight on my phone.
  • Fanfic no longer scares you
If there comes a point where you are no longer shocked by smut fanfics, then come join me in rehab!
  • You start to wonder what the fuck that big yellow ball of light is in the sky
    What is outside? It buuurrnnnssssss!
  • Home is where the wifi connects automatically
Although this is strictly true, my wifi connects automatically at a few of my friends houses, too...
  • You struggle to live without the internet
    Well.....duh.
  • When the internet is down, you consider the idea your life is over
I had no internet for like a day and I used up all of my month's worth of 3G by using it as a hot spot for my laptop....
  • What are humans?
There are apparently things in the world called people? I am not sure what that means? Like people actually meet up? Weird.
  • You start off watching normal things on YouTube, then find yourself watching videos of talking porcupines and parrots singing Gangnam Style
This was me the other night.....I now love porcupines.
  • You have a Tumblr account
    Guilty as charged.
  • You frequently use said Tumblr account
Pleading guilty for a second time.
  • You have started to absolutely adore cats
If you do not look at, reblog or frequently see images of cats then you do not spend long enough on the internet.
  • You take your laptop/phone to the bathroom
Yep, this happens. More frequently than I like to admit.
  • You have developed more of an emotional attachment to fictional people than the people you actually have in your life
    SEVERUS SNAPE FOREVER.
  • You get told to "get a life" but respond by pointing to your laptop and stating that it is there
This happened the other day. My dad told me I should get off the internet and go get a life, so I pointed to my laptop and proceeded to explain that I have a life...My mum also told me to get some sunlight, so I just opened the curtains. Trolling.
  • You have a blog
    Hell yes!
  • Losing a Twitter follower seems like the end of the world
I lost a follower the other day and I got really upset. I am so lame.
  • Gaining a new Twitter follower deserves a bottle of champagne
No joke, this should be a thing.
  • You schedule your life around live internet shows and streaming opportunities
My examples...YouNow live shows and Dan and Phil's Radio One show on Sunday night at 7pm....
  • You know the name of every meme
I shit you not, this is so beyond true.
  • You're aware that internet addiction disorder is a real thing - and you don't care
I will be an active member of rehab if this does get recognised as a mental disorder. See you there, lovelies.
  • You are an active member of several fandoms
My Tumblr dashboard basically shows I am a member of about 294937402 fandoms...
  • Tumblr-isms are second nature to you
Too right. The epic feels when I read a smutty fanfic about my OTP....I can't.
  • Your browsing position has been completely perfected
Although my browsing position looks uncomfortable, it is considerably comfier than anything else.
  • Sometimes you start sentences with "I saw this on Tumblr/Twitter the other day..."
This happens more when I am talking to Vikki, who is a fellow internet addict like myself, as she will know what I am on about....I am trying to teach my Grandma about Tumblr and whatnot, but it isn't working....
  • 3am means dinner time
Although this is also a result of the student lifestyle....
  • Slow internet makes you freak out
If my internet is slow for more than like half an hour, I will be in a bad mood for the rest of the day...
  • Your bookmarks page takes hours to scroll through
I currently have like over 100 bookmarks on my laptop...I really need to sort that shit out...
  • "1% battery" causes you to have a heart attack and makes you run faster than an Olympic sprinter
This is the worst feeling ever. If you have ever got to the point where it says that then you will know the crazy mad dash you do from your browsing position to your charger to plug it in before everything dies and you are stuck with no internet for like 5 minutes....

If you are thinking "I do that" then congratulations, you are as addicted to the internet as I am! High five!

To be honest, whether internet addiction becomes a mental disorder or not, I still won't change....and I will not be getting sent to rehab (queue Amy Winehouse music).

I hope you enjoyed reading this! Tell me in the comments below if you do any of the things I mentioned, or even add your own if there are any you do that I don't! I want to hear aaallll about it!

Ramblings of a Rambler

Hello there, buddies.

Well I was unsure at first as to whether I was actually going to post anything today for a start because my mind has been completely blank for the last few days apart from my "inappropriate life rant part two" post (which you can read by clicking back there).

So I thought I would just ramble on about general things that come in to my mind as I type....This will probably turn in to a rambly rant....Yup, new word. *adds to laptop dictionary*

I don't think I have a good sense of humour at the moment (sorry) so I am unsure what turn this might take. For all we know I could be going on about something I saw on Tumblr....Now I have written the word "Tumblr" I think I am going to kick this off with talking about fanfiction.

For all of you who are avid Tumblr users like myself, you will probably have stumbled across fanfic at some point. For all of your who have never stumbled across it, keep your sanity! I have read so much shit that is just so....disturbing is the only word I can think of...yet I can never seem to stop reading...Fanfic, why you do this to me?! There are various different types of fanfic on Tumblr, and you may have read them about the central person in your fandom (mine being Danisnotonfire and Amazingphil). Yet no matter which fanfic you read, the main subject seems to involve sex. No lie, 90% of Tumblr is sex or porn. Now I am slightly worried as I know various people on my Facebook read my blog and are probably like "holy shit, what kind of fucked up person do I know?!". I assure you, my Tumblr is used mainly for stalking YouTubers, and not for stalking porn. Anyways, I have read some fucked up shit about Dan and Phil (aka "Phan") like OMG you would not believe. The best bit is that I think the majority of Dan and Phil's fanbase are like 13 year old girls. I am not sure whether to be disturbed that they are writing about this sort of thing, or admire the fact they have some crazy imaginations and the patience to write a 36 chapter fic....The mind boggles.

As a bit of a side note....the government needs to find a way of making the price of petrol considerably cheaper.

As I am writing this, I am staring at a wall in my room full of so much random shit it is unreal. I have my You Me At Six posters, a gorgeous post of Tom Daley, my Duke of Edinburgh award, my Welsh flag, a mass of autographs and my world map that I drew a while back...so I am going to talk a little bit about these for a while. Hope you don't mind.

So You Me At Six have been a band I like for a few years now, and if you haven't listened to their music you best go do it now. Listen to the album "Sinners Never Sleep" which is their most recent one. Track one is the best, along with "Bite My Tongue" (such a good song). Josh Franceschi should marry me for that shit. I have been lucky enough to see them twice so far. I saw them once up in Birmingham like 2 years ago where they did an album signing and then a live set which was a bit of a pleasant surprise because we didn't know they were doing that. So I have a signed album stuck up on my wall! Then again at one of the Olympic Torch things in Cardiff where Kids in Glass Houses and Emeli Sande perfomed, too. So I have loooooved that. But go to YouTube and search for them - they are awesome.
You Me At Six - I would post a picture of my album but I can't find the picture I took and my internet is too slow for me to upload a new one.

Not sure I need to say much about Tom Daley. He is just sex on legs. He also lives in Plymouth like me, so I have had the pleasure of bumping in to him on several occasions. I will put a pic below so you can see. I bump in to him quite a bit on nights out, and have met his mum once (totally in there now, you see). He is such a lovely guy, and didn't mind having his picture taken with me despite being out with his friends and being surrounded by screaming girls (I was not one of them!). He also has a nice bum.
The gorgeous Tom and I. This was taken in Oceana in Plymouth back in September last year, so I no longer look this awful!

Erm, not much to say about my DofE award apart from the fact that I did a lot of work for it, and went camping (ergh) and also discovered I am really badly allergic to ant bites. So that was a lot of fun.

Ah, my wall of autographs. Now I bet you are thinking that I have a load of celebrity autographs on my wall. Well I don't. I think I have like 4 well known celebrity autographs. Those are Tom's, Nicola from Girls Aloud, Julian Clary (I know his dad) and I have another one but I can't think who it is....The rest are Disney characters. I shit you not....Well that and characters I spotted around Universal Studios. As you can tell, I am a child at heart. Before you ask, yes I have Mickey Mouse's autograph.

Ermmmmm, ah yes, map. So as you know I am hoping to travel the world after university. Then I got all depressed because it will cost like £10 000 which sucks. But now I have a considerably better and well-paid job that I can come back to during the summer, so travelling has become an option again! So you can imagine I am a happy bunny. Although travelling the world is still off the menu for now, I can afford to travel Australia for about 4 or so months, which is so awesome! So if you live in Australia write in the comments where you think I need to go! Also, maybe I can meet some of you guys?

This (sort of) brings me on to YouTube...as you all know, I love YouTube, and I have been saying for ages that I will sort my channel out properly. Well I have good news! I am going to start shooting my videos in September (ish)! So hopefully I will turn some of these posts in to videos, and do some of the typical YouTube challenges, too. So let me know in the comments what sort of things you want me to do! I would do an "Ask Lovely Chubly" but I am not popular enough to do that *sniff sniff*. I have also roped some of my housemates in to do some videos, too, so you will finally get to meet them properly!

Also, Vikki is currently like half way through her holiday over in Italy where she is staying with her family, so I am feeling abandoned at the moment. I am sending her (almost) daily updates with all the YouTube links in them so she never misses out! I am such a good friend.

I have also managed to get more Pepsi Max in my system, so hopefully I will get myself back to normal soon. I was starting to go a bit funny without it. Stupid addiction.

Finally, I am going to be back in Plymouth on September 10 so I will be back to posting daily! You will also get to hear about all the crazy and stupid things I do in Freshers week. Yes, I am making sure I am back in time to go mental with the Freshers again! Prepare for me to be making a fool out of myself on a daily basis considering last Freshers and first term I think I ended up painting myself about 5 different colours....Anything for a good night out, eh? Also, if you want more posts about my university life then do let me know because I am not sure whether it is something you want to read about.

Long story short, I am looking forward to being back with my Plym-fam as they are called; I am missing them lots. They keep me sane (ish). So I am counting down seconds now until I am back there! I have even arranged my first night out (September 10) with Louise where I will get my typical dose of Nandos goodness! Stop shaking your head at me, you know how much I love Nandos. (Nandos, if you are reading this - free food?! :D )

I am also trying to think of a name for all of you lovely readers as most bloggers have a name for them. Someone suggested "Chubblies" but I think that sounds a bit harsh....comment below some suggestions if you have any.

So that is my post for today...I am not sure what to make of it to be perfectly honest with you. But you already know what my brain is like.

If you enjoyed this post don't forget to click "Join This Site" over on the top left for more posts by me!

That is all for now, peeps.

My addictions

Hello there, buddies.

For some strange reason I have really struggled with ideas of things to write today. Then I had a bit of a (shit) brainwave to tell you all about the things that I am completely addicted to. These aren't like lighthearted addictions either, these are mostly things that I cannot go a single day without. I do love all these things, but I do apologise if any of you end up getting addicted to them too! Sorry! Also, I sort of slacked a bit yesterday and only did one of the two posts I promised as I got sidetracked with a different project, so I will be doing two today at some point.

Tumblr
I am 100% addicted to Tumblr. I mean seriously addicted to it. Most people read the news first thing in the morning, not me, I go directly to my Tumblr dash. I follow so many different accounts that my dash is so beyond varied. I get over 100 new posts every 4 minutes so I can promise you I am never bored. You can check my Tumblr out by clicking the link at the end of the post :)

YouTube
Again, I check YouTube like five or six times a day...seriously. I don't know if any of you guys are like this, but I absolutely love YouTube. My Tumblr sort of links in with it too, which is cool. I am hoping one day to finally get around to my own YouTube videos of some of these blog posts, so stay tuned!!

Blogging
I think you guys know how addicted I am to my blog. I basically eat, sleep and breathe blogging. I am constantly thinking of new things to post for you guys, and different sections I could start. I am hoping one day to get my blog published some how, so you never know, I could be famous one day. Ha, that would be awesome, but it is never going to happen. Sad times.

Pepsi Max
Yeah, I am addicted to Pepsi Max. I go through so much of it, and I used to drink like 5 cans a day at uni - minimum! It is sooooo lush. It also mixes well with vodka....so yeah I drink this like all the time. I am currently drinking the bottled stuff and I have decided it tastes ten times better out of a can. And then I don't drink a whole bottle in one go. I only got some yesterday and I am already having to go and buy some more tomorrow.

Taking pictures
I am lucky enough to have the iPhone 5 so I don't have to take my camera everywhere with me, but I take pictures of absolutely everything. I even take pictures when I go for a run. I don't know why because I probably will never look at those pictures ever again, but you know.

Nandos
Most people really like Nandos, but I really like Nandos. I will never turn down a Nandos, and I even have Nandos sauce at home and I put it on almost everything.....I really should get a job at Nandos, shouldn't I?

Studio Ghibli
I love Studio Ghibli. If you don't know what it is then shame on you! They are a Japanese animation company who make awesome movies like "My Neighbour Totoro", "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle" and so many more. Please go watch them! If you have seen them, comment in the comments box!

Nail polish
I have got myself so many new nail polishes recently, I am starting to think I should stop. I think this might be because I worked in a restaurant for 3 years so I have never been able to paint my nails because of that, so I am making up for lost time.

Murder mystery/crime fiction books
I LOVE this type of book so much, maybe because of the fact that it related to my university course. I got 4 new books today to read whilst I am lonely over the summer.

Buzzfeed.com
I love Buzzfeed, it keeps me entertained every single day. There are some awesome articles on there! If you haven't seen it, then click here.

Jeremy Kyle
I am home alone a lot during the day, so I have turned to daytime TV, which means a bit of Jezza! I have come to the conclusion that Jeremy Kyle is proof that being fat and ugly doesn't stop you getting laid.

LA Ink
I am blaming Kat Von D for the fact I want another tattoo. I love watching it every day at 4pm then sitting there and thinking of all the things I want inked on me. Deary me, I am addicted.

Old cartoons
If you weren't born in the 90s then you have never experienced proper cartoons. The likes of Dexter's Laboratory, Ah Real Monsters, Hey Arnold, etc. were just fucking awesome. I feel sorry for the likes of this generation who are stuck with the worst kids TV ever.

Minion Mayhem
I am completely addicted to this game on my phone. I have now also got Vikki addicted to it! It doesn't help that you play as a minion because I just end up giggling the entire way through. It is so cool! If you have an iPhone or operate Android on your phone, then download it and play! It's free!

YouTubers
This sort of works with the fact I am addicted to YouTube I think, but I love YouTubers. I would give ANYTHING to go to Vid Con and meet them. I am ever so slightly in love with Phil Lester too, which probably doesn't help.

Fins
We have only just started to get these here in the UK, but they are little fish shaped cheesy crispy things. I can't describe them, but they are so much better over in the USA. You can get them in rainbow colours and everything, but OMG they are so nice. I bring loads back every time I go over there.

Well then, peeps, those are my addictions! If you have any of the same addictions, or if you have different ones then comment below!

Writers block

Hello there, buddies.

First of all, by the time I probably finally get around to publishing this it will probably be Sunday....I am terrible, sorry. But it has been a long day; I have been to my lovely cousin's wedding! I want nothing more than to jump in to my bed and blare a bit of One Direction until I go to bed (don't judge me). So apologies in advance.

Since getting home from the wedding I have been constantly saying to myself that I should probably write my blog post today but then every time I have gone and done something different. Don't hate me. Then I finally nagged myself to sit down and do it....then when it did come to writing my post, I genuinely had NO idea what to write. Writers block is a bitch. Even now I am struggling with writing this. This might have something to do with the levels of alcohol in my system....(my under 18 viewers, this is not encouraging you to drink, tut tut). So naturally I thought I would tell you about all the things I have done since getting in to avoid writing my post.

Well, here we go!

BROWSE TUMBLR
Yes, this is so beyond typical of me. Every time I get on the internet (all the time) I tell myself that I will take a quick look on Tumblr then get off it and do something productive. Then every time I am on Tumblr for about 4 hours....no exaggeration. Although today I have only been on Tumblr for like 2 hours....be proud.

UPLOAD PICTURES TO FACEBOOK
To be honest I do have an excuse for this considering I was at a wedding today! But I did look through my pictures of the wedding, then upload them...then tag them...then look through it again. Then I messages my mum to let her know the pictures are there. Yeah I really went out of my way with those pictures didn't I?

WATCH A YOUTUBE VIDEO...OR TWO...OR 15
I can guarantee you aren't shocked at this either, right? You guys already know what I am like with YouTube. I started off by watching Caspar Lee's new video (click on his name!) then it escalated by watching a video of Dan's then Vikki told me to go drool over Phil instead....so I did. Yeah....I spent a lot of time on YouTube tonight....

MADE A CUPPA
I made a rather nice cup of tea in an attempt to cure my writers block. As you can guess, it didn't work.

HAD A CURRY
I reheated some of the curry I had a couple of days ago, and made some extra rice. I thought my brain might need some food after a long day. Bear in mind it was already about half past midnight by this point.

MADE ANOTHER CUPPA
In a bid to give my brain some more juice, I had another cup of tea. Turns out this just makes me really need to pee instead. Too much information, Danielle. Sorry.

THREW AWAY MY CURRY
For some reason, my brain did not comprehend the fact that as a rule I really don't like reheated food. So as you can see, my brain is really scrambled at this point! I just thew the curry in the bin 'cause it didn't taste as good as when I made it in the first place.

ARRANGED MY BLOG NOTES
I am quite an organised person so I have two notepads full of stuff related to my blog. One of them I use for planning each blog post, and the other has loads of stray pieces of paper on it with ideas on. So I organised the two so they they sort of correspond properly to each post. Yep, I was really avoiding writing at this point.

HOOVERED
I ran the hoover round my living room. I didn't even need to considering I did it during the day and both the dog and I had been out all day. Procrastination like a pro. For more ways to procrastinate like a pro, you can read my 10 ways how to here!

DID MARIO AND LUIGI IMPRESSIONS TO MYSELF
Yes, this happened.

CONTEMPLATED MY LIFE
After a day at a wedding filled with couples, I sat and contemplated where I am in my life, and where I want to be in a few years time. Shit got real deep here, folks.

COMPLAINED TO MY DOG
Following that contemplation I complained to my dog about where I am in life. My dog looked at me as if I am mad. Then again, I was talking to a dog...

WALKED UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS A FEW TIMES
Maybe walking would inspire me to write something? I did have the idea about writing something about stairs. Be glad that didn't happen.

MORE YOUTUBE
You would think that I had watched every video on YouTube by now, wouldn't you?

PLAITED MY HAIR
I can't even explain why I did this.

REALISED MY HAIR IS TOO SHORT TO PLAIT
Yeah, since having loads of my hair cut off, I can't plait my hair properly. Not that I ever plaited my hair in the first place.

ADMIRE MY SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS PAJAMAS
Yes, I have Spongebob PJs. I am just that cool, guys. They are also from the mens section in Primark.....

REALISED I'M AN IDIOT
By this point I felt really bad about keeping you guys waiting for my post and that I am an idiot because I have so many things written down that I could write about.

STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WRITE
By the time I finally sat down to actually write something, and having looked through my list of about 100 ideas, I had no idea what to write. Still. Sorry.

I GAVE UP
I literally gave up and thought I would bore you with this shit....not my best work, I know. But maybe you might enjoy reading what I do when I get writers bloc

So then guys, I hope you enjoyed this terrible post. If you did then don't forget to hit "join this site" to subscribe to me, that would mean a lot!

The terrifying world of a fangirl

Hello there, buddies.

As you all know, I am a keen member of many different fandoms on the internet. I am even considering writing about fandoms in a separate post. With belonging to a fandom comes the act of fangirling, which can be taken to the extreme of ultimate fangirling.

For all of you who do not know, I have made my own definition of what fangirling is:

Fangirling:
The process by which a person belonging to a fandom becomes increasingly excited about the object they obsess over, whether this be over the internet, in person, or simply by an act, that they become overly excited. The symptoms of fangirling can include obsession, extreme high pitched squealing, melting at the mention of the object of admiration, stalking, constant mentioning, explosion of feels, loss of concentration for anything else, and sexual attraction. This process is almost irreversible and is the leading cause of internet addiction in teenage girls.
NOTE: one does not have to be of the female gender to participate in the act of fangirling, and this act can also be involuntary and can occur at any given moment.

I think this is the most accurate definition of fangirling ever and that I should submit it to be entered into the dictionary.

Ok, well the world of fangirling is actually terrifying (mainly for the people who have to witness it). I am pretty sure that Vikki and I have scared my old flatmates silly by our high pitched screeching and complete obsession over certain people on the internet (names have no need to be mentioned as I am sure you can guess....). Also in previous times where we have just been sat chilling with some other friends including +Ryan Steppel and +James Martin where YouTube has been put on and Vikki and I just go slightly nuts over one thing.....so yeah, we can be pretty scary.

So long story short, I want to tell you about the things in our world in the hope that you might find it slightly amusing.

First of all there is the issue of fandoms. I love the fandoms I belong to - they are like my second family! Then you have the fact that there are literally thousands of fangirls in this fandom and when we all come together the world may as well end. Anywhere that we are just explodes. Genuinely goes nuts. There are images, feels and GIFs flying everywhere. Then everyone just comments on everything and you will see loads of "I can't", "the feels", "slakdopAKDP[AL" wtc everywhere. The best bit is, I can actually understand exactly what is being said here...if you are reading this and all you are thinking is "what the fuck?" then you are not a fangirl! This might be a good thing as it probably means you have a life outside the internet..

Then there is Tumblr. The HQ for all fangirling. Go to Tumblr and if you don't have an account then create one....then type in the name of anything you know is popular and behold the fangirls. Tumblr is like a zoo for fangirls....I imagine David Attenborough commentating like "and here we have the typical fangirl. Once an endangered species, now something left to roam free. The fangirl is typically most active at night and can often be seen attached to a laptop or giggling uncontrollably". This is not an exaggeration. My dashboard is a typical example of this....let me see if I can get it all in one screenshot to show you. This is a screenshot about 3 minutes after amazingphil's new video was uploaded.....yup....fangirling.

Then there is Twitter. As you all probably know, especially if you follow me, I am a Twitter addict. I also follow several people who are the object of my fangirling - this means I can tweet them! Yay! To be honest, I only do that to usually get my followers to watch their videos. However, if you do search for things on Twitter you can see the crazy fangirling of so many people. Usually like "omgfosdkfops *insert name here* is so hot, OMG, I love him, he's perfect" etc. Then there is the fangirling when people retweet or favourite your tweets. This occurred to me when I got retweeted by Tyler Oakley, Sprinkleofglitter and favourited by Tanya Burr. I sorts just freaked out, and I still think this is the best thing that has ever happened to me! If you click on their names you will get directed to their YouTube channels, so please do check them out!

I also have a little thing about scheduling my day around things I know happen. For example, every Sunday between 7pm and 9pm I am completely unavailable to anyone other than Vikki and Dan and Phil (again click on their names!) have their Radio One show which you can watch online on the BBC Radio One website! I literally split screen my laptop to have one side playing their radio show and the other with Facebook and Twitter open - priorities! Then with other things like TV shows e.g. Glee and whatnot, I scheduled my day around the fact that I could watch it when it was on! That really is terrible isn't it? if you ever do this, let me know in the comments!

Then we have those people who completely hyperventilate and go crazy when they meet the object of their fangirling. I have seen videos of people who break down in crazy tears and be unable to speak the entire time that they are with them. Then their picture is all tear stained and they have a red face! Now I can understand, but I have never had the pleasure of meeting any of mine *sniff sniff* apart from a couple of the bands that I like, so I have never had the chance to react. But when you really are a hardcore fan this is the reaction! So if you see someone in the street acting like that around someone, they are probably a fangirl!

Fanfiction, as I think you have heard me mention before, is a bit part of being a fangirl. If you don't know what it is, you can read about it here. Fangirls either read or write fanfic, and I have to say there are some pretty amazing ones out there. But there are also the really weird ones and I shit you not, I have read some weird shit out there, but you can never stop reading it! I love fanfic! It is probably the biggest and most interesting part of the world of a fangirl. Anyone can read it, but it might seem really random to you guys. Fans who write fanfic usually advertise on Tumblr, so get searching for fanfic for your fandom if you haven't already!

I am going to combine the last three elements of fangirling in to one big point because they sort of link. These are Google stalking, feels, and dying. I think they also relate to fanfic...Well I have to say, any fangirl who says there are no feels for the object of their fangirling is just lying. Then fanfic creates this sort of frenzy of feels which leads to "OMG, I am dying" which can be all like "holy shit" sort of dying or "what the fuck did I read?" dying. These can be both good and bad I guess, but mainly good!! Then you get to the stage where you just Google search the shit out of the person or thing. Raise your hands if you have done this.....*raises hand*. Yes, I have done all the Googling and whatnot. If you haven't got to this stage yet....good luck.

Well that is basically the terrifying world of a fangirl in a nutshell. If you liked this post then please do subscribe by hitting "join this site" at the top left of the page! It is quick and easy and a better way for you to get my posts!
