Summer Bucket List

Summer is fast approaching - as is the end of my degree, thank god - and I am starting to think about the things I want to do. Unlike last year where I spent every waking second at work, I am taking it slightly easier this year. I have a holiday, a trip to a theme park (or two...), and some day trips planned; plus my obvious trips back down to Plymouth.

I thought there would be nothing better to do to get myself in the mood for summer, and distract (procrastinate) from exam stress than to make a bucket list of the things I want to do this summer.

1. Lose weight
I say this as I am sat here munching my way through a pack of Hula Hoops. I have sort of neglected my body over the last few years and put on rather a lot of weight, so I think this is about the time I sort that out. I plan on going to the gym several times a week, and cutting all the crap *echem, hula hoops* from my diet.

2. Take more photos
I used to take photos of everything, but as soon as I gave up drinking I sort of stopped. I got myself a new camera at the end of last year (mainly in relation to number 7), so hopefully I can put that to more use this summer.

3. Go on more walks
I really enjoy going on walks, exploring new areas, and slowly getting lost in fields. Unfortunately for me, my dog is rather stubborn and doesn't particularly like to walk very far so I don't have the luxury of taking her on longer walks. Maybe I should borrow someone else's proper dogs?...

4. Smile more
The last 6 or so months have been complete hell, and I have found myself on a daily basis being incredibly miserable. Luckily, I have been able to escape back home for job interviews (although I have been rejected on all of them - more of that in a later post). I may actually post about all that in a later post because I think I could share some pretty good advice. But I am hoping being back home in a happier environment, with people who don't hate me, and be somewhere where I am not actually scared to leave my room. Oh, and also having my dog around will be much better for me.

5. Blog more
I have sort of rejected you guys for a little while because of deadlines, dissertations, and now exams. Now that I don't have any of that rubbish (almost) to deal with, I can spend more time blogging and doing things I want to do! That also may mean more rants - possibly another airport/flying themed one in September!

6. Save some money
I am hoping to move out in the next couple of years, so I am hoping to save a significant amount of money towards that. I also owe my parents a rather large chunk of money because I borrowed some to buy a new car - whoops. But it will be nice to treat myself to some new clothes and treats once I have lost a little weight, too.

7. Vlog in Disney
Yes, you read that right. I am hoping to add a little video element to this blog! Panic not, I shan't be turning into a YouTuber; mainly because I don't really have enough confidence to spend all my time in front of a camera. I am hoping to do more of a series of montage-y videos so that I don't have to bore you with my voice! I am in Disney World and Universal Studios etc. for 2 weeks at the end of August, so look out for those coming out around the middle of September.

8. Drink more coffee...yes, seriously
If you follow me on Instagram (shameless self-plug) you will be all too aware that I drink a lot of coffee. But I want to go for coffee more with friends and family, rather than on my own.

9. Keep in touch with some university friends
There are a select few friends I will put all my effort in to keeping in touch with. Luckily for me, a few of them live quite close so I can drive/get the train to see them reasonably often. Maybe I could do some awesome stuff with them to vlog/blog about?!

So there we have it, 9 things I really want to do in summer. Knowing me most of these will probably just start in summer rather than be completed...but it's the thought that counts!

Tell me in the comments below what do you want to do this summer?

Thank you for reading, and I will see you next time!

The Tea Monologues | A Beach Getaway

Over the weekend I took a little bit of a break from university life and jumped on the train to a little town outside Hayle in Cornwall, called Gwithian.

After a relaxing first evening (sitting on a train for 2 hours then waiting in the cold for a taxi really takes it out of you), we spent the entirety of Saturday walking - yep, you heard right.

In total I think we walked for about 5 hours, and I now have a huge chunk of skin missing from the back of my foot to prove it.

I took some photos along the way, so here they are.

I am still finding sand in my shoes from walking across these dunes. They look pretty, but they have made my legs ache so bad.

Considering it is the middle of February, and the waves were probably about 10 feet tall, it looks so pretty! My panoramas came out considerably better than any of the other photos - and the sky is so blue!

We spent an hour or so shell hunting - we now have a pretty impressive collection.

After trekking along the beach, then several miles inland to Hayle to grab some lunch, we walked back along the beach as the sun set; trying to find a spot to get back up to the dunes to walk home.

Turns out the sunset over Carbis Bay and St Ives looks so pretty. Although it doesn't show up in the picture, you could see the lights coming on in the village.

So that was my weekend away!

I feel a lot less stressed about uni work, but I still feel like I need a good few weeks away!

What sort of places do you like to go to so you can relax?

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Where is next on your travel bucket list?

Top 5: things to do by 2015

Recently, in between my many breakdowns, I have been having one of those reflective thoughts about life. I had a sudden realisation of "oh shit, it's already March", and I realised I have done essentially nout in the last 3 months of 2014.

I thought it would be a good idea to give myself a good kick up the ass and have 5 goals to complete by the time 2015 rolls around, which at the moment seems like it will be in seconds. My logic is that because it is documented, and you have all seen it, that you can all help make sure I actually do these things rather than just sit around and do bugger all.

I've decided that none of these will include my university work because that is something that I actually have to do whether I like it or not.

1. Write at least half of my book
Although this is something I have been keeping quiet, I have been working on writing a book for around a month now. It's taking me a fair amount of time to write it because of all my deadlines and other commitments that I have, but I am getting there slowly. I am not going to give you any spoilers because I'm a pain in the ass like that. Hopefully if all goes well I can show you some of it soon!

2. Go on holiday with my friends
I am not talking some huge-scale jaunt off to the Caribbean or anything, but a week or two away with my little group of buddies would go down a treat - I think we all deserve a break. Hopefully this is actually going to happen in June as we have been looking at places to go, so fingers crossed!

3. Lose some weight
Now I don't need to lose any weight as a rule, but I would like to just tone myself up a tiny but just for myself. This isn't to please anyone else, or even to attract guys or whatever, this is literally just because I want to feel a lot better in my own skin. Hopefully that will start over Easter and continue then for however long it takes.

4. Raise money for Cancer Research
You may or may not know that my mum was recently diagnosed with cancer. This news came just a few days after a close family friend died of the same disease, and we have had several family members and friends die because of cancer. A few years ago I ran the Race For Life in my hometown of Swindon, and hope that I can do something like this again.

5. FIND A MAN
I have come to the conclusion that single life sucks dick, and I am feeling a bit lonely. I have not had the best luck with men in the past, and it would seem that I have literally given up hope. So it would be nice to have a nice guy in my life in some way shape or form, but who knows?

So those are my goals for 2014, and I am actually going to work at achieving them considering they are now documented on the internet for the whole world to see....if that isn't going to act as motivation then I don't know what will.

What goals have you set yourself for 2014?

As always, thank you for reading! Don't forget to follow me on all my social media over on the right, and stay tuned on Lovelychubly for more posts coming soon!

Ramblings of a Rambler

Hello there, buddies.

Well I was unsure at first as to whether I was actually going to post anything today for a start because my mind has been completely blank for the last few days apart from my "inappropriate life rant part two" post (which you can read by clicking back there).

So I thought I would just ramble on about general things that come in to my mind as I type....This will probably turn in to a rambly rant....Yup, new word. *adds to laptop dictionary*

I don't think I have a good sense of humour at the moment (sorry) so I am unsure what turn this might take. For all we know I could be going on about something I saw on Tumblr....Now I have written the word "Tumblr" I think I am going to kick this off with talking about fanfiction.

For all of you who are avid Tumblr users like myself, you will probably have stumbled across fanfic at some point. For all of your who have never stumbled across it, keep your sanity! I have read so much shit that is just so....disturbing is the only word I can think of...yet I can never seem to stop reading...Fanfic, why you do this to me?! There are various different types of fanfic on Tumblr, and you may have read them about the central person in your fandom (mine being Danisnotonfire and Amazingphil). Yet no matter which fanfic you read, the main subject seems to involve sex. No lie, 90% of Tumblr is sex or porn. Now I am slightly worried as I know various people on my Facebook read my blog and are probably like "holy shit, what kind of fucked up person do I know?!". I assure you, my Tumblr is used mainly for stalking YouTubers, and not for stalking porn. Anyways, I have read some fucked up shit about Dan and Phil (aka "Phan") like OMG you would not believe. The best bit is that I think the majority of Dan and Phil's fanbase are like 13 year old girls. I am not sure whether to be disturbed that they are writing about this sort of thing, or admire the fact they have some crazy imaginations and the patience to write a 36 chapter fic....The mind boggles.

As a bit of a side note....the government needs to find a way of making the price of petrol considerably cheaper.

As I am writing this, I am staring at a wall in my room full of so much random shit it is unreal. I have my You Me At Six posters, a gorgeous post of Tom Daley, my Duke of Edinburgh award, my Welsh flag, a mass of autographs and my world map that I drew a while back...so I am going to talk a little bit about these for a while. Hope you don't mind.

So You Me At Six have been a band I like for a few years now, and if you haven't listened to their music you best go do it now. Listen to the album "Sinners Never Sleep" which is their most recent one. Track one is the best, along with "Bite My Tongue" (such a good song). Josh Franceschi should marry me for that shit. I have been lucky enough to see them twice so far. I saw them once up in Birmingham like 2 years ago where they did an album signing and then a live set which was a bit of a pleasant surprise because we didn't know they were doing that. So I have a signed album stuck up on my wall! Then again at one of the Olympic Torch things in Cardiff where Kids in Glass Houses and Emeli Sande perfomed, too. So I have loooooved that. But go to YouTube and search for them - they are awesome.
You Me At Six - I would post a picture of my album but I can't find the picture I took and my internet is too slow for me to upload a new one.

Not sure I need to say much about Tom Daley. He is just sex on legs. He also lives in Plymouth like me, so I have had the pleasure of bumping in to him on several occasions. I will put a pic below so you can see. I bump in to him quite a bit on nights out, and have met his mum once (totally in there now, you see). He is such a lovely guy, and didn't mind having his picture taken with me despite being out with his friends and being surrounded by screaming girls (I was not one of them!). He also has a nice bum.
The gorgeous Tom and I. This was taken in Oceana in Plymouth back in September last year, so I no longer look this awful!

Erm, not much to say about my DofE award apart from the fact that I did a lot of work for it, and went camping (ergh) and also discovered I am really badly allergic to ant bites. So that was a lot of fun.

Ah, my wall of autographs. Now I bet you are thinking that I have a load of celebrity autographs on my wall. Well I don't. I think I have like 4 well known celebrity autographs. Those are Tom's, Nicola from Girls Aloud, Julian Clary (I know his dad) and I have another one but I can't think who it is....The rest are Disney characters. I shit you not....Well that and characters I spotted around Universal Studios. As you can tell, I am a child at heart. Before you ask, yes I have Mickey Mouse's autograph.

Ermmmmm, ah yes, map. So as you know I am hoping to travel the world after university. Then I got all depressed because it will cost like £10 000 which sucks. But now I have a considerably better and well-paid job that I can come back to during the summer, so travelling has become an option again! So you can imagine I am a happy bunny. Although travelling the world is still off the menu for now, I can afford to travel Australia for about 4 or so months, which is so awesome! So if you live in Australia write in the comments where you think I need to go! Also, maybe I can meet some of you guys?

This (sort of) brings me on to YouTube...as you all know, I love YouTube, and I have been saying for ages that I will sort my channel out properly. Well I have good news! I am going to start shooting my videos in September (ish)! So hopefully I will turn some of these posts in to videos, and do some of the typical YouTube challenges, too. So let me know in the comments what sort of things you want me to do! I would do an "Ask Lovely Chubly" but I am not popular enough to do that *sniff sniff*. I have also roped some of my housemates in to do some videos, too, so you will finally get to meet them properly!

Also, Vikki is currently like half way through her holiday over in Italy where she is staying with her family, so I am feeling abandoned at the moment. I am sending her (almost) daily updates with all the YouTube links in them so she never misses out! I am such a good friend.

I have also managed to get more Pepsi Max in my system, so hopefully I will get myself back to normal soon. I was starting to go a bit funny without it. Stupid addiction.

Finally, I am going to be back in Plymouth on September 10 so I will be back to posting daily! You will also get to hear about all the crazy and stupid things I do in Freshers week. Yes, I am making sure I am back in time to go mental with the Freshers again! Prepare for me to be making a fool out of myself on a daily basis considering last Freshers and first term I think I ended up painting myself about 5 different colours....Anything for a good night out, eh? Also, if you want more posts about my university life then do let me know because I am not sure whether it is something you want to read about.

Long story short, I am looking forward to being back with my Plym-fam as they are called; I am missing them lots. They keep me sane (ish). So I am counting down seconds now until I am back there! I have even arranged my first night out (September 10) with Louise where I will get my typical dose of Nandos goodness! Stop shaking your head at me, you know how much I love Nandos. (Nandos, if you are reading this - free food?! :D )

I am also trying to think of a name for all of you lovely readers as most bloggers have a name for them. Someone suggested "Chubblies" but I think that sounds a bit harsh....comment below some suggestions if you have any.

So that is my post for today...I am not sure what to make of it to be perfectly honest with you. But you already know what my brain is like.

Annoying types of airport people

Hello there, buddies.

Well I have not gone off on a major rant in a very long time so I thought why not best to do one whilst there is thunder and lightning all about!

As it is fast approaching August and most of the schools have broken up for summer, a lot of people are probably going to be venturing on holiday - vacation to my lovely American readers - so I thought to myself "why not do a post about airports?"

Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY love flying and going on holiday and everything, but there are just some people in the airport and around that area that really ruffle my feathers. If you have recently been on holiday then you will probably know exactly what I am talking about.

This post if going to take the format of a "The one who..." sort of list style thingy otherwise I might bore you with my overly long rants as usual.

If you experience any of the things that I mention then do tell me all about it in the comments section below, or tweet me @LovelyChubly #AirportAnnoyance and I will be sure to reply to you!

The one who always forgets they have metal on them
You know there is always that one person who forgets that they have money in their pockets, or a belt on or something? Then they go through the metal detector thingy like they haven't got a care in the world. You watch them look so confused when they set it off then the security is all like "have you got anything in your pockets" and they reach in and pull out like a whole bank full of coins? How can you not remember you have that in there?! It tells you SO MANY TIMES as you are walking up to check your pockets etc....are you just stupid or do you think that they will be like "oh it is ok, go through" NO. Then they hold everyone up as they have to put their money through the scanner thing, then walk through again. What makes it even worse is I have seen someone do this, then realise they have a belt on.... I am sat there like "akjkajsdksjfs IDIOT" waiting to go through as it is 4am and I want a coffee. Please remember that you are likely to have something in your pockets. Just check, for heaven's sake.

The one who's luggage is over the allowance
I have had the pleasure (biggest dose of sarcasm in the world) of being stuck behind a guy like this. When you fly long haul, for all you non-flyers out there, you get around 20-25kg of luggage allowance to go on the plane, and 5kg of hand luggage. In this particular circumstance, the man was part of a family who were on their way to Disney World in Florida (like myself at the time). Now, I am not sure what he had in his luggage...I am a girl who likes to wear clothes (shocker) but I am not sure how many pairs of shorts, t-shirts and flip flops you need for your two week holiday, buddy, but how they managed to come to 30kg is beyond me. The best part is that his wife was just facepalming the entire time like "OMG, what is he doing?". He then continued to tell the check-in assistant that the scales were broken as his suitcase only weighed 20kg....Give up, pal.

The one who is late
There is always one. Every time. The one person who holds up the plane because they are too busy buying overpriced stuff in the departure lounge. They must hear the final announcement for the plane "this is the final call for flight TCM38472 to Sanford, all passengers please make their way to the gate. This is the final boarding call" (I should definitely work in the airport) and just be like "the plane won't go without us...lets carry on shopping". Well, buddy, I am afraid this is not true. I watched as your suitcases got hauled off the plane when you were 15 minutes late. Karma.

The one who forgets their passport
I shit you not, I have seen this happen so many times. On the way to Canada with some friends there was a guy in front who all of a sudden stopped dead at the check in desk and was patting himself down. Never have I seen someone in so much distress! Then he got all panicked and was like "OMG. I have forgotten my passport". I don't know about you, but if I am going on holiday or anywhere that requires ID to prove my nationality I usually check that I have my passport as I leave the house. Then when I get in the car. Then when I leave my street. I mean, I am not even going anywhere yet I just checked to see if it was still in the same place. So how on earth can he have forgotten it? Get yourself organised!

The ones on a group holiday
Now this may be a slightly biased thing considering I have never done that "woo lets go get drunk in Malia" sort of holiday because I have always been working or cannot afford it. So it really bugs me when you go to airports and you see these drunken teenagers at like 5am in the departure lounge drinking pints of beer wearing their matching nickname tops. Now it is all well and good if they aren't screaming the place down with their drunken chants, but as soon as they do it I am like "get off the planet". I am a terrible human being.

The one who doesn't know where they are going
There is always one person who is constantly referring to their tickets or boarding pass who then stops dead in their steps when they are walking, causing you to bump in to them. Sound familiar? If not then you are probably this person. The worst thing is, they don't usually apologise or anything, it is usually the opposite and they get all shitty at you for not watching where you are going. I am like "I was watching where I am going, but I did not expect to walk in to a human fucking statue any time soon!". Please tell me this happens to any of you, otherwise I am just clearly the worst person ever.

The one who picks up your suitcase on the luggage claim belt
Admittedly this is by pure accident half the time, and I do get that. But what I really hate is when people push past you, grab the nearest bag they can and examine it within an inch of its life. Surely you don't have to pick it up to look at it? God knows. I am lucky that I have bright lilac suitcase that no one ever wants to pick up so I am usually safe from this!

The one whose hand luggage is too big
Even after going through bloody check it and customs and whatnot, they get on the plane and their hand luggage doesn't fit. Are you seriously telling me that you went through ALL of that and didn't stop to think that your suitcase worth of hand luggage might not fit in that small space used for overhead luggage? Duh.... Then they get on the plane and they hold everyone else up just because they are trying to shove their bag in to the space at any angle they can. Just give up and bring a smaller bag next time? I mean what have you got in there?

The one who sits in the wrong seat
There is always one person on the plane who gets the wrong seat. But this person will then not move or get out their ticket to check that they are sat in the right or wrong place. The worst bit is when you have your ticket in your hand with your seat on it, but they refuse to move still. Gah do people never think that if they can see that you have your seat number that they are in the complete wrong place? We all want to get to the same place, so can we please just get up and move so we can get going?

The one who stands in the middle of the moving walkway
You know what thing I am on about right? The one that leads you do and from the departure gates that just make you move faster? And they are waaaay more fun! There are general rules that apply to these moving walkways. For instance the fact that you stand on the right (like London tubes). Now, you get those really freaking irritating people who think they are God and just stand smack bang in the middle of the walkway. Now I know you are like "well why don't you walk?" well guys, those moving walkway things are part of my holiday. So eff off with your standing in the middle and let me through!

The ones who cannot control their children
These types of people are so beyond common in airports. They mainly get all crazy when you get on the plane rather than when you are in the actual airport. I go on more of a rant about that on my "I hate public transport" post which you can see here. But then when you are doing the average browsing of the duty free, or just sat down having food or a drink, you really do not want to have kids running a fucking riot around you? I have had one knock over my drink and the parents just stood there and laughed....what the fuck, dude?! Control your kids!

The one who rushes off the plane
There is one every single time who has to be the first person off the plane. If they aren't it is as if all hell has been let loose and it is the end of the world. What is the rush, dude?! You aren't going to get anywhere any faster than the rest of us. Remember that thing you checked in before you got on the plane? Yeah that thing called a suitcase? Well they all come off at once, and chances are yours is right at the end. So stop your fucking panicking and pushing and just chill! You're on holiday!

The one who never has all their documents ready
I guarantee you that this is the same person who rushed off the plane. This I have seen happen more in American where you wait for a long time in order to get to customs, but there are always people who never have all their documentation ready. This really ruffles my feathers too because it holds everyone up. For any of you lovely people who have not been to America since 9/11 then you won't know how security works over there. But you need your documents out ready and there are always people who don't. Seriously, there is all that time to get your shit together. What do you do? Stand there and daydream?

The one who complains all the time
There is always that one person, or group of people, who just constantly complain about everything. Like from the fact there is a tiny queue at check in, to the movies they show in-flight. I mean, seriously, how sad do you have to be to complain like that to that extent? I have heard someone complain about the fact that the flight was 10 hours long instead of 9 hours 40. I get that you want to get off the plane, but we are all feeling the same! There is no need to voice your opinion to the entire plane....

Well then, peeps, I am going to leave it there because I think this might go a teeny bit crazy!

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Eight: July 8 - Video Games Day

Hello there, buddies!

Well then, guys, today is Video Games Day! I have to say, this is yet another crazy and awesome day. Yesterday was an excuse to eat chocolate, now today is an excuse to whack out some awesome video games.

Video Games Day is all based on celebrating the awesome development of video games! Whether you are an Xbox user or you swear by your Playstation 3, Video Game Day might actually bring you all together.

I am pretty sure everyone these days plays on some sort of video game, and it isn't just for kids anymore - video games are spreading across age groups. The typical 'gamer' stereotype has been abolished because of this, so they are no longer seen as those spotty teenage weedy boys!

Aaaaand as usual, there is no origin or creator or this day, but my best bet is that is as created by all those gamers out there (pretty much everyone) who wanted a reason to be sat on their asses playing games all day!

My challenge to you today is this: grab all your old-school retro games and start playing them! This can be anything from Playstation 1 to old Nintendo and Gamecube games! You could even go one better and grab your old Gameboy Colour! Tweet me @LovelyChuby #RetroGames telling me all about your awesome games, or even send me a picture. Alternatively for all you non-tweeters comment in the boxes below and tell me about what you get up to.

I have to say, I quite like Video Games Day as I do like to play on my Xbox for unnecessarily long amounts of time. So this day gives me an excuse. I whacked out my original Spyro the Dragon game and the original Crash Bandicoot!

That is all for the UBC today, folks. Tune in again tomorrow to find out what the day is!

Toolde-oo, peeps!

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Seven: July 7 - Chocolate Day

Hiiii-aaaa!

Well did you know it is chocolate day today? Well now you do! Although it is a bit late telling you at 11.18PM isn't it? Sorry.

Chocolate day is perfect for all you chocoholics out there, and gives everyone an excuse to munch their way through a mountain of chocolate....mmmmm, a mountain of chocolate.

This means you can eat chocolate bars, melted chocolate, chocolate ice cream, chocolate mousse, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate pancakes, chocolate cereal....the list goes on. And you can eat it all with reason, and no need to feel guilty!

Here is an idea for your day:

Breakfast: coco pops and a maaaaaasssive hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows, and more chocolate.
Lunch: chocolate spread sandwich with a chocolate mousse yogurt and a glass of chocolate milk.
Dinner: hot chocolate fudge cake with chocolate coffee.
Snack: chocolate raisins
Midnight snack: some sort of chocolate bar

How perfect does that sound?!

And as usual there is no origin or creator of this day, but I am hazarding a guess that it might be something to do with the chocolate companies...hmmm....

So here is my challenge to you: tweet me @LovelyChubly #Chocoholic with your pictures of your awesome chocolate creations. Alternatively if you are Twitter-less then do post in the comments!

Here is my chocolate creation of pancakes with melted chocolate and banana!

That is all for today, speak tomorrow!

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Six: July 6 - National Fried Chicken Day

Hiiii-aaaa!

Isn't today the BEST holiday in the entire world?! National Fried Chicken Day!!

Can you not think of a better excuse to grab a massive KFC? Definitely craving one right now.

Fried chicken is really big pretty much all over the world, especially in America. Millions of fried chicken outlets are dotted around the globe, all there for you to enjoy.

National Fried Chicken Day is no better excuse to eat fried chicken for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, snack, midnight snack....all day?

Again, no record of the origin or creator. Also no record of it ever being 'National@, but I say go with it!

My challenge to you today is to send me your pictures of your friend chicken to @LovelyChubly #CluckingBrilliant. Laughing quite badly at that hashtag at the moment.....I want to see all your friend chicken awesomeness! You can also post in the comments below all about your fried chicken adventures!

I have to say, fried chicken is the best cure for a hangover. There is a good tip for all you students out there.

But the chicken isn't just the most important part of the meal, is it? You HAVE to have the ultimate side dishes.....like chips and gravy....and sweet corn. Oh my, I am hungry now.\

I am going to leave this here before I end up eating my fingers off!

Toodle-oo!

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Four: July 4 - Sidewalk Egg Frying Day

Hiiii-aaaa!

Happy 4th of July to my American buddies! (even though I am like several days late - sorry I have been running around so much).

Today is known as Sidewalk Egg Frying Day. Yes, you did read that right.

Basically, it is usually stinking hot (everywhere but the UK) and this time of year, so much so that you can probably fry an egg on the pavement (or sidewalk!).

You never know, so give it a go.

As per usual, this holiday has no known creator or origin (typical), so it might even be made up. But I think this is a pretty awesomely funny made up day.

So, my challenge to you is......do some egg frying! Try and think of the most weird and creative way you could fry an egg and send it my way either with the comments or by Twitter @LovelyChubly #CrazyEggs.

Can you imagine if people actually tried to fry and egg on the pavement? I know that in August in Florida this is more than possible as everything gets so hot. I know it has been relatively warm at the moment here in the UK, but you couldn't fry anything without a cooker....

Craziness!

I don't have much else to say on the subject of eggs to be honest....so I will leave it there for the day.

Speak to you laterss....

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Three: July 3 - Compliment Your Mirror Day

Hiiii-aaaa!

Welcome to day 3 of the UBC! Today is Compliment Your Mirror Day!

I know what you are thinking, your mirror really isn't that good....it might have some scratches and some chips, or maybe is covered in make up like mine. Well hold your horses! This isn't about your actual mirror, it is about what you see in it....YOU!

Go grab your nearest mirror, or go stand in front of it if it is a wall mounted one, and say hello to yourself! Now go ahead and compliment yourself! Don't feel stupid, you don't even have to say it out loud if you don't want to, but pick out some things about yourself that you like.

This might be a good day for all you people out there who have low self confidence, like myself, and could do with a bit of a pick me up. Everyone loves a compliment now and again, so who says it cannot come from yourself?

There is no known creator or origin of this day. It would appear as if it is made up (it probably is), but I personally think this is a good day to have! Even though it isn't an official calendar date, I think this is awesome. Especially for the likes of teenage girls who are severely pressured by the media to look a certain way, but that really is a but of a rant for another day.

So here is my challenge to you for today: grab 5 post-it notes and look in the mirror. Now I want you to pick out 5 individual things you really like about yourself and write each one on a separate post-it. I want you to stick them all around your mirror so that you can see them each and every day as a reminder!

I know there are going to be people scattered about the world who think this sounds stupid. But I tell you what, as a girl I find that a single compliment goes a long way in my head. There can be a day where I feel slightly shit about myself, whether it be because I just do, or I am remembering something someone said about a year ago. This day might even save someone's life if they are feeling that depressed about themselves.

Now if you take anything from this, I want you to take this: a single compliment can go a long way. It only takes a few seconds to say, but can stick with someone for a lot longer than that.

That is all for now.

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day Two: July 2 - I Forgot Day

Hiii-aaaa!

Following on from yesterday's UBC post, today is I Forgot Day. I bet you're surprised that I remembered to write it, eh?!

Long story short, today is essentially a day to forgot! Or you can look at it in a different light of using it to try and remember all the things you have forgotten. Did you put the washing out? Have you forgotten someone's birthday? Have you forgotten where something is?

You can look at it in many ways; you could use the day to look through old photos and find events that you had forgotten about. This is exactly what I have done! I spent an hour or so looking through some pictures at my Grandma's house from when I was little about the times which I thought I had forgotten. I must say, this was all very interesting and I found a load of pictures of me that I had forgotten all about - like a picture of me and my cousin when we were younger. It is weird the things you can dig up.

I Forgot Day was apparently invented by Gaye Andersen in the USA. On this note I would like to clarify that these are not all necessarily holidays for the UK, but are definitely things you can use here! There is nothing stopping you!

Here is today's challenge for you: write down 5 things that you had thought you had forgotten! Post them in the comments below, or even tweet me @LovelyChubly with #IForgotDay. These can be anything from trivial things like leaving straighteners on for too long (I did this earlier), to forgetting about it being your uncle's, grandad's aunty's birthday. See what I mean, very random, but at the same time all very interesting!

You could even pass this on to friends and family, and see what crazy things you have all forgotten. I bet this could turn out to be quite amusing.

I am finding I Forgot Day actually quite useful as I am remembering all these things that I should have done - like sort out the header for my blog - that I haven't quite got around to doing yet because I have an awful memory.

So get your thinking caps on, and start remembering things that you have forgotten!

All comments are extremely welcome and I will reply to every one (if there are any!).

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day One: July 1 - Creative Ice Cream Flavours Day

Hiiii-aaaa!

Well today marks the start of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, and also the start of my UBC subject of the different and unusual holidays in the month of July! So without further ado, here begins post one!

Today (July 1) is also Creative Ice Cream Flavours Day - did you know that?! I didn't to be perfectly honest. I must say, I quite enjoy this new found holiday!

I think this day is perfectly placed really; it is the start of summer, and here in the UK the weather is FINALLY starting to look up (it is very sunny and warm where I live today!).

The main concept of this day is pretty much self explanatory - create your own ice cream flavour! Could you think of anything better?! You never know, your flavour that you create could be the next big thing!

Essentially just get creative!

Unfortunately, there is no knows record of who created this day, or where it originated from. Because of this, I am going to just say that it was some random ice cream parlour from many years back who thought it would be a great idea to make a day where you can just go nuts with your ice cream flavours!

Here is the challenge for today's holiday! I challenge you guys to get ultra-creative with your flavours. You can literally add anything to any flavour of ice cream and make it your own! So, I would like to see your pictures/suggestions in the comment box at the end of your post and I will post them on my blog! Or you can tweet me them @LovelyChubly with #CreativeIceCream

I will be making my own after dinner! I am adding chocolate chips, Haribo sweets and popping candy to vanilla ice cream. Not quite sure what the result will be, but it will be interesting for sure! Might top it off with some squirty cream and more chocolate....mmmm....that does sound good now. Maybe some chocolate brownie too?

I tell you what, you could host a crazy ice cream party! This is definitely something I am going to be doing when I get back to uni. Get each person to bring their own flavour of ice cream and a topping each, all muck in and create one giant awesome ice cream! Now that I would LOVE to see on my Twitter feed!

This ice cream here was what I treated myself to the other day, how amazeballs does that look?! It had cream, vanilla ice cream, fudge brownie, Cadbury's Dairy Milk pieces and loads more in it. Now that is what I call a creative ice cream!

That is all for today's UBC, peeps. I will be back with tomorrow's one around the same time in 24 hours!

Don't forget to post your pictures and suggestions in the comment box below, or tweet me them @LovelyChubly with #CreativeIceCream and I will reply to all your comments and tweets!

Appropriate plane behaviour

Hello there, buddies!

Ok, today I want to talk about plane etiquette, and things that annoy me when I fly (on a plane ofc). I don't know about you, but there are just certain things that are just completely inappropriate on a plane. This might be me being snobby, but there are bound to be people out there (like you guys) who find these things annoying too! They just bug the absolute shit out of me. Commence rant.

Ok the first thing that I think needs to be addressed here is parents with younger kids. Don't get me wrong, I love kids. But when you have someone's baby screaming next to you for the whole 9 and a half hours that it takes to get to Florida, you sometimes start to go a little insane. Am I wrong? It might just be me, but seriously, can you not shut your baby up for literally 5 minutes?! I have also had a flight - again to Florida, I know I am so adventurous - where some kid behind me was just constantly throwing up. Gross. And I have this major phobia of the sound of someone being sick, the sick itself doesn't bother me, but the sound....ergh I hate it so much. So you can imagine me on this flight. Grouchy as fuck just sat with my headphones turned right up so that I can't hear anything. Did the job after a while.

Another thing people need to pay attention to is hand luggage. There are a few things which bug me about this. The first is people who put their hand luggage under the WRONG seat. I am not being funny, but I really do not understand how people do this....there are videos saying to put it under the seat IN FRONT of you, but people insist on putting it under their seat. Pretty sure their life jackets are under there. If we crashed into the sea you'd be wearing your bag instead of a life jacket.....The other thing is when people constantly push your luggage out from the seat in front of you when they decide that it is a great storage place for their feet. This happened to me on my most recent flight to Spain. I have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shell backpack (don't judge me) and some pain in the ass kept kicking it so it would come out from the space it was in. Gah it bugged me so much.

Now this one is just be being a picky bitch, but if you have been on a long haul flight you might sympathise. People who snore loudly. When you are flying overnight on a 10 hour flight the main thing you want to do is sleep. Now I find it extremely difficult to sleep on a plane, but when you have that one bald guy opposite you just snoring so loudly with his mouth wide open, you just wanna plug a pillow in his mouth to shut him up.

This one is more aimed towards planes themselves. Well not the planes, but plane companies. This problem I have would be plane food. I have never had a great experience with plane food, it all seems to be bland cardboard-ness. I have also had what they called a bread roll which was frozen to fuck. Lovely. At least they try and make up for it with little bags of pretzels and mini ice creams. To give credit to them, breakfast is usually ok. I love the little pots of orange juice they give out. I'm sad.

Another thing that bugs me when I am on a plane is when you land. People think that as soon as the seat belt sign is turned off that they should stand up, get all their shit from the overhead lockers and just stand there and block the aisles. Now I find this very irritating as it means that no one can get off the plane until they move. And every time they do this, they decide that just as the plane doors open to faff around and do stuff IN THE AISLE so that you can't get out. Aaaahhh some of us want to be off the plane we have been stuck on for hours! Jeez.

I wanna mention appropriate behaviour when there is turbulence. I have flown through a hurricane so I know bad turbulence. I know it is a scary thing, and that people panic. But when a flight gets slightly bumpy and you hear people screaming and shouting I just do not understand. When you are flying through cloud it will tend to get bumpy because of the wind.....you are not going to free-fall out the sky are you? So chill your shit and have a drink.

Chair kicking. It is just completely unnecessary on planes. I am not being funny but you are not the only one who is uncomfortable. My dad is 6'3 and you don't see him kicking anyone's chair because he is all cramped up do ya? No, you do not. So please, 5'3 woman, stop kicking my chair because it winds me up and I will turn around and give you death stares. Thanks.

And finally (I know, another long rant. Sorry), there is the situation of annoying air hostesses (don't start singing Busted). Does no one else find it incredibly irritating when all they do is smile? I wanna see one get really pissed off and shout at that kid who won't stop pestering, or the one person who is always pressing the summon button. Omg that would be awesome.

Ok everyone, overly long rant over now. If you have read this far you deserve my eternal love!

That is all for now. Don't forget to use the media buttons to your left to do all your stalking!
