The Tea Monologues | Disney's Animal Kingdom

Let me take you on an adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom.

It is a spectacular park (even when you get caught in the tail end of a hurricane where the huge leaves provide excellent alternatives to umbrellas).

The first thing you see is this:

The Tree of Life. With several hundred carvings, a series of waterfalls, and the home to those little bugs from A Bug's Life in It's Tough To Be A Bug, you really can't go wrong.

It also has some of the best photo spots.

Let's all ignore the scars on my face!

Our first stop is a 2 weeks trip on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

At the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris, and on the other side of Animal Kingdom, are two exploration trails; Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

They are home to so many awesome animals - the perfect place to get some brilliant photos.

Whilst you are over that way, why not check out the Festival of the Lion King?

Can you feel the love tonight?

I bumped into these two wandering around, too!

Oh oo-be-do, not sure I want to be like you-o-o!

Although this is all quite fun, the place to be is at Finding Nemo: The Musical in Dinoland USA - just keep swimming, or go with the flow, whichever takes your fancy! Just don't let the sea monkey take your money. And yes, I can confirm that Dory is a natural blue.

No trip to Dinoland would be complete without jumping on a Time Rover to find an iguanodon now, would it?

"We're not gonna make it, we're not gonna make it!!"

Sorry if you were ever on this ride with me...yes, I am that annoying person who quotes specific parts of the script.

Next, I think it's time to find the Yeti to keep the dinosaur company.

I have a few rather amusing ride photos from this....

You know, I have also managed to avoid getting a complete soaking on Kali River Rapids. I am not really sure how considering everyone else walks off completely drenched! I like to think this of quite a big achievement.

Finally, for the first time in forever (sorry) I went to see Flights of Wonder. I haven't seen this show in yonks because we generally seem to avoid it. I found it quite amusing, especially when the parrot sings...I am easily amused really.

On my way out I spotted DeVine - that's some pretty good camouflage.

That conclude my little wander around Disney's Animal Kingdom. Obviously I have way more photos than this...I may do a separate post for Kilimanjaro Safaris because I have about 100 photos from that ride.

Join me next time for a day in a different park!

Tell me in the comments what your favourite part of Animal Kingdom is!

As always, thanks for visiting and I shall see you next time!

Summer Bucket List

Summer is fast approaching - as is the end of my degree, thank god - and I am starting to think about the things I want to do. Unlike last year where I spent every waking second at work, I am taking it slightly easier this year. I have a holiday, a trip to a theme park (or two...), and some day trips planned; plus my obvious trips back down to Plymouth.

I thought there would be nothing better to do to get myself in the mood for summer, and distract (procrastinate) from exam stress than to make a bucket list of the things I want to do this summer.

1. Lose weight
I say this as I am sat here munching my way through a pack of Hula Hoops. I have sort of neglected my body over the last few years and put on rather a lot of weight, so I think this is about the time I sort that out. I plan on going to the gym several times a week, and cutting all the crap *echem, hula hoops* from my diet.

2. Take more photos
I used to take photos of everything, but as soon as I gave up drinking I sort of stopped. I got myself a new camera at the end of last year (mainly in relation to number 7), so hopefully I can put that to more use this summer.

3. Go on more walks
I really enjoy going on walks, exploring new areas, and slowly getting lost in fields. Unfortunately for me, my dog is rather stubborn and doesn't particularly like to walk very far so I don't have the luxury of taking her on longer walks. Maybe I should borrow someone else's proper dogs?...

4. Smile more
The last 6 or so months have been complete hell, and I have found myself on a daily basis being incredibly miserable. Luckily, I have been able to escape back home for job interviews (although I have been rejected on all of them - more of that in a later post). I may actually post about all that in a later post because I think I could share some pretty good advice. But I am hoping being back home in a happier environment, with people who don't hate me, and be somewhere where I am not actually scared to leave my room. Oh, and also having my dog around will be much better for me.

5. Blog more
I have sort of rejected you guys for a little while because of deadlines, dissertations, and now exams. Now that I don't have any of that rubbish (almost) to deal with, I can spend more time blogging and doing things I want to do! That also may mean more rants - possibly another airport/flying themed one in September!

6. Save some money
I am hoping to move out in the next couple of years, so I am hoping to save a significant amount of money towards that. I also owe my parents a rather large chunk of money because I borrowed some to buy a new car - whoops. But it will be nice to treat myself to some new clothes and treats once I have lost a little weight, too.

7. Vlog in Disney
Yes, you read that right. I am hoping to add a little video element to this blog! Panic not, I shan't be turning into a YouTuber; mainly because I don't really have enough confidence to spend all my time in front of a camera. I am hoping to do more of a series of montage-y videos so that I don't have to bore you with my voice! I am in Disney World and Universal Studios etc. for 2 weeks at the end of August, so look out for those coming out around the middle of September.

8. Drink more coffee...yes, seriously
If you follow me on Instagram (shameless self-plug) you will be all too aware that I drink a lot of coffee. But I want to go for coffee more with friends and family, rather than on my own.

9. Keep in touch with some university friends
There are a select few friends I will put all my effort in to keeping in touch with. Luckily for me, a few of them live quite close so I can drive/get the train to see them reasonably often. Maybe I could do some awesome stuff with them to vlog/blog about?!

So there we have it, 9 things I really want to do in summer. Knowing me most of these will probably just start in summer rather than be completed...but it's the thought that counts!

Tell me in the comments below what do you want to do this summer?

Thank you for reading, and I will see you next time!

The Tea Monologues | A Beach Getaway

Over the weekend I took a little bit of a break from university life and jumped on the train to a little town outside Hayle in Cornwall, called Gwithian.

After a relaxing first evening (sitting on a train for 2 hours then waiting in the cold for a taxi really takes it out of you), we spent the entirety of Saturday walking - yep, you heard right.

In total I think we walked for about 5 hours, and I now have a huge chunk of skin missing from the back of my foot to prove it.

I took some photos along the way, so here they are.

I am still finding sand in my shoes from walking across these dunes. They look pretty, but they have made my legs ache so bad.

Considering it is the middle of February, and the waves were probably about 10 feet tall, it looks so pretty! My panoramas came out considerably better than any of the other photos - and the sky is so blue!

We spent an hour or so shell hunting - we now have a pretty impressive collection.

After trekking along the beach, then several miles inland to Hayle to grab some lunch, we walked back along the beach as the sun set; trying to find a spot to get back up to the dunes to walk home.

Turns out the sunset over Carbis Bay and St Ives looks so pretty. Although it doesn't show up in the picture, you could see the lights coming on in the village.

So that was my weekend away!

I feel a lot less stressed about uni work, but I still feel like I need a good few weeks away!

What sort of places do you like to go to so you can relax?

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Where is next on your travel bucket list?

Things my dog thinks

Hello there, buddies!

As you may already know, I am the owner of a lovely Tibetan Terrier named Macey! She featured in my first post "I hate summer" (which you can read here). If you want to see her appear on here more then tell me in the comments!

So I thought that for your entertainment I would put together a little post full of all the things that she might be thinking at various points!

I hope you will enjoy it and it makes you giggle. Please do comment in the box at the end with your thoughts and if you have any pets, things that you think they might be thinking! You can also tweet me @LovelyChubly with #PetThoughts with a picture!

So, here are the things that the lovely Macey might be thinking!

"Life is just too hard at the moment"

"If you can stick your tongue out and get away with it, then I can too!"

"You want to come upstairs? Too bad"

"I am really not enjoying this sun. Can we go inside please, human?"

"Aaah, I have found my happy place"

"Can I pretty please with biscuits on top have some of that chicken you are eating?"

"You want me to do what? Are you kidding me?"

"I love my teddy. And my teddy loves me"

"Did you just say hot dogs were for dinner? Oh God...That sounds horrible"

"Can we play?! Please? Please? Please? Yes? Yes!"

"Don't you just love how fabulous I look after having rolled on the trampoline?"

"You want to go for a walk? Too bad. Come on, we are going home"

"But as soon as I walk with someone else, I like to make sure I get tangled up"

"High 5, mummy!"

"I don't want to do anything today. Sleep time."

"Want to play fetch? Get it yourself"

"This is now my bed. Find your own"

"I am too lazy to hold my own bone, can you hold it whilst I munch it sloppily?"

"Did you say biscuit?!"

"We are no longer talking"

"Did I just see a cat?!?!?!"

"YOLO"

"This is my friend, Luke. Say hi."

"What are you doing taking pictures of me? Go away!"

"Instead of being good in the car I am going to sit like this and annoy the people behind me"

"I fancy barking at everything that goes past the window today. Then flattening the sofas"

"Is this real life?"

"That's the spot. It itches!!!"

As you can now probably see, my dog is a grumpy little character. She is currently sat behind my head on the sofa (couch) sleeping. But she will wake up if she hears a car or a dog, so God help my ears!

That is all for today, folks! If you did enjoy this post, then don't forget to subscribe!
